Meet Nick

I am a Certified Rolfer® and a Board Certified Structural Integrator. I grew up on a farm outside a small town in Minnesota. I grew up learning many important values, but a few of the big ones were faith, family, and hard work. I was always a very active person and was in basketball, golf, and football in high school. I then went to Winona State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I loved biking and hiking around the bluffs whenever I got the chance. I also met my wife Courtney, who shared these adventures with me.

To get into the story of how I found Rolfing, it starts with me helping a friend work on a house while in college, and I fell off a ladder that was about 15 feet up and landed on a cement block on my hip. I didn’t break anything, but my body felt really out of place. That is when I took a recommendation from a friend and tried Rolfing. I went through my first Ten-series, and after it, I felt even better in my body then before I fell off the ladder! I discerned hard about becoming a Rolfer then but decided to finish my business degree and let myself think about it more since I was so close to graduating. After college, I went on to work in different areas of business, such as marketing, merchandising, product development, and procurement. During this time, I would get Lyme Disease from a tick on one of my outdoor adventures.

I had many different symptoms from Lyme Disease, and one of the main ones for me was extreme joint pain. The symptoms would come and go and move throughout my body and it took the Doctors a year to figure out that it was Lyme Disease. I had to suggest it to them after a friend recommended it to me. I battled with chronic Lyme Disease symptoms for about three years. In the last year of my Chronic Lyme Disease symptoms, my wife and I brought into the world our beautiful daughter, who gave me even more motivation to get better faster to help raise her and be able to play with her how I wanted to. During that time, I deepened my faith and trust in God and kept fighting it with many different forms of treatment until the symptoms were gone. I had so much support from family, friends, and most of all, God. I am very blessed to have overcome this in my life for many people living with Lyme Disease deal with the symptoms for their whole life because it is a very tricky disease that can affect people in a broad spectrum of ways.

Even after the Lyme Disease seemed to be gone, my body was very dysfunctional again from having minimal to no movement for long stretches during those three years. I was moving during that time in compromised ways to avoid the pain I was having, which my body kept those patterns even when the Lyme Disease was gone. I then went back and had a second Ten-series done because of such extreme circumstances in my life along with some Chiropractic work. I knew after the 3rd Rolfing session that I was going to make the leap of faith and become a Rolfer! My body was restored to great shape again, and I was able to do the activities that I wanted to do without hesitation or pain again. I went to school at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration in Boulder Colorado to become a Certified Rolfer to help bring this life changing work to more people. I now look forward to helping you on your unique journey of becoming the best version of yourself!
